The products are inspected for smoothness and cylindricity to provide longer seal life. Rods are induction hardened and hard chrome plated to resist dirt and corrosion. Unlike tie rod cylinders, welded body cylinders have no tie rods. The end caps are directly attached to the body of the cylinder by welding a flange between them to connect the two. These end caps stay in place with the help of bolts threaded through holes in each end cap and flange. The welded body cylinders are more complex in nature than tie-rod, but are also more capable of a wider range of application in all kinds of industries.
