NITRIDING TREATMENT FOR THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER ROD FOR THE CORRESION RESISTANCE

The nitriding of the hydraulic cylinder rods is very helpful to the corrosion resistance. The hydraulic cylinders with nitriding rods can be used widely in the bad moist and salty environments. The effect is very obvious. We have produced these products for customers and feedback is very good. With QPQ processing (Quench－Polish－Quench),the hydraulic cylinders can have much longer life and performance.

The continuous spray test was carried out according to the ASTM B117 standard. The salt spray test temperature was 35±2℃, the relative humidity was >95%, and the 5% NaCL aqueous solution was sprayed. The test results show that the corrosion resistance of the parts after QPQ treatment is 5 times that of 1Crl8Ni9Ti stainless steel, 70 times that of hard chrome plating, and 280 times that of blackening.
